Alex Burgos returns to the Moondogs for his second season after completing his sophomore year at the State College of Florida. Burgos held a 1.80 ERA last year with The Dogs, while striking out 48 batters in 50 innings. Burgos had another great college campaign by posting a 1.61 ERA, while striking out 87 in 78.1 innings. Burgos was also named the Suncoast’s Conference Player of the Year, as voted on by the coaches.
